2015 in an image nutshell .....

2015 was a wonderful year....

When I got pregnant with Tate in January of 2014 I thought I might be saying goodbye to my business. I had been feeling pretty uninspired for quite some time by then and really enjoyed putting most of my energy towards my little Eloise and assumed once Tate was born I'd have trouble finding even the littlest bit of motivation to make work happen- because when you run your own business, work takes work. As a last ditch effort I decided to put my eggs in my portrait basket- knowing that my heart was mostly in the world of the little ones. What happened surprised me. YOU all surprised me. The work that I created this year is a body of images that I am so so proud to call my own and as clients, you were all so supportive and inspiring. You trusted me and embraced me and let me make art for you and I am forever grateful because by doing so you taught me, or reminded me rather, how to love photography again.

With the totally unexpected workload Little Meg has created for me, I have pulled back considerably on weddings but that's also been a blessing because the weddings I am shooting- I am loving again. I am not stretched or overwhelmed by them- in fact I look forward to them and long for hours at my desk working on images instead of dreading it. For the first time in a long while, I feel like my creative being is starting to blossom again. I wake up in the middle of the night with ideas and I can't tell you how wonderful that makes me feel. I am taking small steps to finding myself professionally again and to embrace the new work/life balance that is being a business owner and a mother.

So thanks so much for being along for the ride and I REALLY hope to create some beautiful images for you soon!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
